Ben's Introduction Rules of the
game
This entire crackpot
project is of course perpetually Under Construction -
Another Note: It appears that the National Museum of Naval Aviation has once again reorganized their website, so all my links on the individual aircraft at Pensacola are broken. Maybe someday I'll fix them.

To learn about the designation systems, check out US Military Aviation Designation Systems by Andreas Parsch.
For complete serial number listings, see Joe Baugher's Home Page.
National Warbird Registry is another good source for both museum and civilian aircraft.
For the nicknames of these aircraft, Richard Caldwell has a list.
Allan Barley has a UK Survivors List which I am listing here until I can enter the updates.
Our coverage of airworthy warbirds is very limited, since Ben did
not cover them in the original list. We have concentrated on
those which are often on display rather than personal projects.
We are always happy to get updates, additions and in particular,
photos of the aircraft on the list. Our emphasis is on showing
the condition and circumstances of the actual aircraft displays.
Photos do not have to have artistic merit, but should show the
actual aircraft and its environment. Clearly seen tail numbers
are a plus!
Thanks to the following for their help! We found these links while annotating the list. We have not
included the simple pages included in tourist sites or lists of
museums, only pages with specific data on
the displays.
