ART KRAMER'S WWII STORIES
The Last to Die
It was March 28th 1945 we hit the oil depot at Neuenheerse. Although we got
flak over the target there were no losses. All came home safely. On final
approach to our field at Florennes, Wiliamson and Hedstrom of the 496th
collided. There were no survivors. These were our last losses while the war was
still on. The war ended 5 weeks later. But there would be many more losses as
we moved into Germany and the army of Occupation.
