They came to a country that wasn't theirs, to fight for a people they never
knew. Let all those that knew and flew with these men never forget them.

It was the 8th March 1944. A mission returning
from France, two planes collided on final approach in bad weather, with
fast moving, low hanging scud racing over the airfield. Both planes were
from the 494th squadron and all 12 men were killed that day. Lest we
forget.
